2•January - March 2002 Scientific Visitor in Chemical Crystallographic Laboratory OxfordUniversity, England. (Dr. D.Watkins)Teaching activitiesTeaching undergraduates, PhD students and Post-Docs researchers in the field of crystallographyfor small and medium size molecules. QualificationsMy background has been so far essentially focused on different aspects of physical chemistry coming from electrochemistry and photoelectrochemistry to X-Ray crystallography on small and medium-sized molecules, in the fields of organic, organometallics and inorganic chemistry as well. Iworked for nine years as a Crystallographer Officer in the X-ray facilities, at the Coordination Chemistry Laboratory (UPR CNRS 8241) in Toulouse France, which is the biggest French research center dedicated to Coordination Chemistry. In addition to my research activities, I also taught students and participatedin two Crystallographic schools. I have been involved in the UCR-CNRS Joint Research Laboratory atUC Riverside as a Crystallographer Officer since October 2003, where I was in charge of setting up acompletely new X-Ray facility laboratory to support the research groups of Professors Guy Bertrand,Francois Mathey and the entire community of the chemistry department of UCR as well. Teachinggraduate, post-graduate students or scientifics visitors is also part of my professional duties. I have livedin the U.S. for almost five years now, and I have been involved in an international environment withpeople coming from all over the world which has given me the opportunity to improve my aptitude to communicate effectively in several languages which are not my native language. Also, working andliving abroad has had a substantial impact on my professional skills such as the capacity to workeffectively as an individual a team member and also with diverse groups, and to successfully interactwith individuals from diverse backgrounds. Finally, as you may notice on my resume my ability can bereflected by the significant scientific results published in high impact journals such as: ( Science,Proceedings of the National Academic of Science, Angewandte Chemie, Journal of AmericanChemical Society ) which demonstrates my adaptability and efficiency with respect to my co-workers’expectations here at University of California Riverside.
