The NCMN operates and coordinates eight Central Facilities that are open to all UNL researchers as well as external (private sector) researchers. The Central Facility for Crystallography is one of these facilities. To learn more about our facility, please go to our About Facility web page.





News and Announcements:

Aug. 15, 2008 - The Facility is currently closed. If you have questions, please contact NCMN Administrative Coordinator Shelli Krupicka at 472-7886.

Dec. 17, 2007 - The Request Form is updated with the proven facility rates. Before sending your crystals to the facility, please read the facility policies and complete the Request Form. Please do not forget your advisor's signature.

Aug. 20, 2007 - Congratulations to Sangeeta Dey and David B. Berkowitz! Their work was published in Angew. Chem. Int. Ed., 2007, 46(37), 7010-7014. (Angew. Chem. 2007, 119(37), 7140-7144.)

Jul. 25, 2007 - WinGX software package was installed in two Windows computers of the facility.

Sep. 14, 2006 - Diamond program (ver. 3.1d) may draw a nice MOF (Metal-Organic Framework) diagram with a ball representing the free space in the structure.

Aug. 4, 2006 - The facility bought a campus license of crystal structure visulization program, Diamond. If you need a copy, please email to Dr. Chunhua Hu.

Aug. 3, 2006 - Perfect results were obtained from a well-diffracting crystal of a Cs compound submitted by Dr. Jianjun Liu in Prof. Robert Smith’s Group. (Space group P 2/n 21/n 2/a, Nr. 52, Rint = 0.0300 from 28176 reflections, R1 = 0.0172 from 2527 reflections with I > 2σ(I), wR2 = 0.0473 from 2728 unique reflections, Np = 156, S = 1.118, Δρmax = 0.941 e Ã…-3.)

A crystal with the size of 0.16x0.12x0.07 mm3






A diffraction spot (right down corner) is visible at the high 2θ=112.89° (Mo Kα).
