Korean X-ray Crystallographer
About Korean X-ray Crystalolographer..
KXC is the email list of Korean X-ray Crystallographers who want to exchange their information among themselves and who agree to share their internet sources.
So How Did KXC Begin?
At the 1992 ACA meeting in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, several Korean crystallographers talked about sharing their email nodes. From this informal discussion, KXC was started with fewer than 10 participants. Since then, membership has grown to its current figure of near 40. The list was first maintained by Dr. YoungSoo Kim, then at Yale University but currently at YoungNam University. Dr. Chong-Hwan Chang, DuPont Merck Pharmaceuticals, continued the collection and maintenance of the list.
In 1996, members attending the IUCr meeting in Seattle agreed to establish the KXC homepage in collaboration with the Korean Crystallography Association in Korea. Dr. Kyeong Kyu Kim is overseeing the homepage of our KXC.
Our Plans for the Future
There are no obligations or restrictions for membership in KXC. We welcome all Korean crystallographers who want to share their internet sources and information. Our hope is that by providing a pool of information, KXC can accelerate the growth of crystallography in Korea, while increasing the interactions among Korean Crystallographers both in Korea and abroad.
